Set at 1,900 metres above sea level, Nuwara Eliya is where the British planters escaped the tropical heat and where the world''s finest Ceylon tea is grown today. This private day tour climbs the switchbacks past Ramboda Falls, stops at a working tea factory for a hands-on look at the withering, rolling and grading process, and finishes with a cup of single-estate white tea overlooking the plantations. You''ll also see Gregory Lake, the pink-brick Post Office, Victoria Park and — if the mist clears — the manicured lawns of the Grand Hotel.
