Booking a tour in Sri Lanka — your questions
Everything first-time visitors usually ask us before booking.
- Are your tours private?
- Yes. Every Lotus Tours booking is private — your group travels in its own vehicle with its own driver. We never combine you with other travellers.
- Can I customise the itinerary?
- Yes. You can add or drop stops before you travel and adjust timings on the day with your driver. If a change affects distance or time, we tell you the revised price before you travel.
- Can you pick me up from Colombo Airport?
- Yes, we run private airport pickups and drop-offs. Send us your flight number when you book so the driver can meet you at the right time.
- Do your drivers speak English?
- Yes, our drivers speak English and are Sri Lankan locals who know the routes and the best stops along the way.
- What is usually included in the price?
- Tour prices cover the private vehicle, fuel, the driver and hotel pickup within the tour area. Each tour page lists exactly what is included and what is not.
- What is not included?
- Entrance tickets, safari jeep fees inside national parks, meals and personal expenses are not included unless a tour page says otherwise.
- How many people fit in one vehicle?
- It depends on the vehicle. Each tour page shows the maximum number of guests for that vehicle; larger groups travel comfortably in a second vehicle.
- How do I book?
- Send a booking request through the website or message us on WhatsApp. We confirm availability, agree the details with you, and you receive a booking reference you can track on the site.
- Can you arrange safaris?
- Yes. We run Yala safari packages with park transport and can add a safari day to any tour — see our safari pages for options.
- How do I reach you while I'm travelling?
- WhatsApp is the fastest way. You keep the same chat thread from your first question through to your last drop-off.
